Glad you got it all worked out. I will tell you that the lug wrench from the factory will rip your lug nuts apart. Don't use it!!! It fits fine on the deep lugs, but the short ones that come on the Taco just get torn apart (either bent out of shape or broken into their two pieces...fake cover and real lug underneath). Do yourself a favor and go buy a torque wrench and socket to leave in the truck. It helps too when they over-torque the lugs because you can usually get em off with just the torque wrench.

You really shouldn't use a torque wrench as a breaker bar. Get a breaker bar.

You can tighten wheels with a impact gun w/o over tightening them with the right tools, unfortunately most people are lazy and wont take the extra second to use it!

I use them pretty much everyday of my life and they work great and never have problems with them unless i break it which has happened a few times but lifetime guarantee is sweet!!

i was trying to do some brake work at my friends shop and it was a freaking pain to get them off. i had to literally stand on that crap bar that comes with the truck (2004) to get the left front off.

i was literally jumping on the bar on the right and it wouldnt move. luckily i was in a heated garage with hours to kill and not the side of a frozen winter road

this happened to me too. the crappy little thing they call a tool the truck comes with didnt budge them. I brought it down to a tire shop and they looked at me like i was stupid and started making jokes at me so i got pissed and left and will never go there again. Went to pep boys and bought a full sized tire iron and bingo! got them off no prob...only busted one lug nut in the process.

I'm really starting to dislike tire shops. I had to get a tire rebalanced a couple days ago, I busted out the bottle-jack and removed/installed the wheel myself in the parkinglot.

This is what I was told to use and then finish with the click torque wrench. Thanks for the link. [IMG]

My pet peeve is the center caps. I have lost two of them since the last time I was in the shop. At least the previous guy was smart enough to come out and ask me how to put the dam things back on. :jerkoff:

I had a Chev Astro and had winter tires and new steel wheels installed at Canadian Tire. In the spring, I went to switch to the summer wheels and tires and I had a HELL of a time getting the nuts off. When I did, I noticed that the young guy at Canadian Tire used LocTite on the studs!!:eek: Man was I pissed.

Ask visa or my wife. They both constantly remind me how much I've got left to spend.
I'm feeling your pain brother. When I went in to get my complementary first oil change I went ahead and told them to rotate the tires while I was there. I wanted to paint my front calipers a few weeks later and got the truck on the jack and had the impact gun at 135 PSI and not one lug budged on either wheel. So I got a breaker bar and was just about to pull myself off the ground when the splind key broke. That's why no one touches my rig but me.

Haha yes... unfortunately, I live in an apartment where it is forbidden to do any mechanical work. Minor things like changing tires I'll take care of on weekends when management isn't around.

I talked to the dealer though, and I'm going in on Saturday to have them swap the TPMS sensors onto the other rims, and mount the summer tires (properly torqued this time). They seem pretty eager to make things right.
