Hello everyone been doing some research on installing a kind of raptor style grill light inserts. That's not the issue as I've got them installed and ready to go. Issue is everyone says to just plug them in to the H-LP RH-LO with an add a fuse. Problem is when you do that they only turn on when the brights are on and not the DRLs.

But my idea is what if I plug it into the fuel pump fuse instead. Fuel pump fuse is only ever on when the truck is running and so the lights will always be on cause of that. But the fuel pump fuse is also a 10 fuse and so is the H-LP.

My question is, Is there any risk of my pluging into the fuel pump fuse instead? Cause the way I see it is should be perfectly fine to do this.

I have my Raptor lights come on with my low beam lights, is there a way to have them come on with the parking lights?

Using a relay and a dedicated power supply is probably overkill for these small LED lights. But it would make the control easier and safer.

Use an old-school relay harness. Then - simply tap any one of the parking lights to activate the relay.

On my last truck, that is what I did, tapped into the parking lights. Was hoping on this truck I could just use a add a fuse to the fuse box in the engine bay.

There is a 7.5 amp fuse labeled "TAIL" inside the cab fuse box that will do what you want. Use at your own risk.

@MESO since you know a thing or two on wiring, what’s the risk running a tap to the “tail” fuse for the grill lights? Not sure if using the brakes will affect it or something else.

So the light doesn’t dim or anything when tapped into it and the taillights are being used (i.e. brakes, turn signal)?

Ever find a fuse to do this (TAIL?), or is the only option "tap the side marker wires?" Thanks
