    4 run, 2 don't
That's the least of your worries; if you're just now finding damage, imagine what else is there that you're not seeing.

Speaking from experience of having rats destroy one of my vehicle's wiring harness.

cam sensor on the valve cover? i just replaced the engine harness on a 2019 taco on an insurance job from some kind of rodent. cam sensor was the first thing noticed. Dug deeper and found alot of messed up wires, i use peppermint oil around the car in the garage.. seems to work (had a mouse chew through the harness on my avalon before)

Gees! That’s crazy. Where those vehicles dormant for the winter? I have two cars under covers in my garage. Winter is a problem. Seems they try to hid from the cold. Droppings so far seem to the biggest issue, plus found a dead one on the firewall on one car. Oh, yeah also chewed through the headliner on the other.
Recently sold a 350 motor that was in my garage for a few years. I was shocked at how many freaking mouse dropping there where under that motor!
Sealed up the garage doors this year, hoping that keeps them out. Have traps in the garage with no kills so far. Guess I’ll see in the spring if I have vacuum out the cars ...

I have the opposite problem. I have kittens sleeping on my exhaust and on top up my engine.

Click the link and read post 1 and 4. Dude caught the fucker on camera moving between his flower bed and 4Runner and damage was done within 3 hours.

And people ask me why I hate squirrels.

I have had rodent issues in my motorhome engine compartment. They nested in the doghouse insulation. They never touched the wires, the problem I have found is the urine. They piss and shit everywhere. And they leave trails of urine to follow like pathways. This stuff rots out fuel rails and fittings and causes leaks. I found hosing down the area and cleaned off the urine trails helped. I haven't seen them return since.
