That's funny. I just installed a RCD kit and I gained almost 2 inches to the bottom of the drop bracket. With the drop bracket I have about 12.5 inches of clearance.

I spent about $2500 less on the RCD than I would have a procomp considering you have to run 18" wheels and tires. To expensive??? My RCD kit was only $1600. I had almost that much in my toytec ultimate kit and LR UCA"S.

Procomp told me the same thing.

$1799 from wheelers, no tax and relatively cheap shipping... you even get new front shocks unlike the procomp/fabtech basic kit ($1700 ish)

but with the rcd your paying more money for a drop bracket kit and getting less lift. to me it is not worth it.

I got 6" out of my RCD kit and have way more ground clearance than a straight 6" drop bracket.

I was able to use 16" Alloy TRD Offroad rims by installing 1.25" wheel spacers and trimming less than 1/8" of metal off the tie rod ball joint.

Do you have an actual question, or are you just awestruck by the spectacle?

No, I only put a 3/4" spacer on top of the shocks that came with the kit.

I knew I wanted 6" so I got some big top spacers from a friend of mine who upgraded his pro comp. I was going to use them, but the coil-overs that came with the kit were the same size as the stock coils with 6" spacer on top, so I went with the new ones and stuck that 3/4" on to make sure I got a full 6" lift.

I have alot better ground clearance doing it this way. Better than the 3" ToyTec lift :)

It probably helps that my truck is lighter than most people installing the kit, but putting spacers in the coils should take care of that.

drew02a has the rcd kit and he's right at 6" of lift on his, the rcd says 4.5" lift but you can get 6" out of it or more. I think all he used was the what came with the kit too.

Dammit: Didn't read all the pages drew already chimed in

solus694- with a procomp or fabtech u can crank the coils and get 7-8 lift so your argument about ground clearance is null..

on the fabtech you'll be going thru cv boots at 8" of lift, the procomp is capable of more lift because it has a better cv angle

That's fine if you actually want 7-8" of lift. Since I do alot of offroading want to keep my center of gravity lower if possible.
Another good point. The RCD kit drops the diff even more than it drops the LCAs, which means it will have the best CV angle for how much suspension lift you add.
