I installed an RCD 5" lift a year ago. It came with Bilstein shocks. Now one of my rear shocks is leaking fluid. The same thing happened to the 5100s I had on my previous truck. I ended up replacing those with OME 60091 and liked the ride quality and had no problems with them. Unfortunately I don't think those would be long enough for my current rear lift, which is around 4.25" over stock. Does anyone have suggestions for replacement shocks without spending a fortune?

From that Bilstein link, 5100 series only has a 90 day warranty!? I was under the impression that they're lifetime? Call RCD and see if they'll swap it.

That's what bilsteins do. My jeep sat for two weeks and I came home to a puddle of shock oil from the front driver's side. It had literally just sat still in the driveway. Lol
It was part of an AEV lift and they did send a warranty replacement.

Since this is the third Bilstein shock that has done this to me in the past few years, I'd rather replace them with another brand. The lack of quality is apparent.

I didn't want to spend a bunch of money, but I may have to get ICON or Fox. I think they both have options for the RCD lift. I don't know of any others. I've only owned Bilstein and OME, so I don't know much about other brands.

3! I've been under the impression Bilstein was the best shock available!? I installed my lift back in Dec, guess I'll see how mine hold up over time:mudding:

Wheelers off-road sells an Icon extended version rear shock for 4-5 inches of lift.

The two rear shocks (5100s) lasted about two years on my previous Tacoma. This one lasted a year. I probably flex my truck more than most though.

I was happier with the ride quality OME gave over Bilstein on my previous Tacoma. I think these Bilstein shocks are overrated.

I didn't see any on their website, but will give them a call. Thanks!
