so far just put on 275/75/17's
New here, I have the with the v6 6 speed automatic, a 2017 tacoma sr5.
I put on an plan on keeping 275/70/17s on the stock wheels, and I now am wondering which gearing is best for what I have going on 4.88 or 5.29? if you have questions or thoughts/answers lmk

My truck felt fine without a re-gear when I had 275/70/17 years ago. I'd say 4.88 will be perfect if you are going to stay with that tire size.

I wouldn't overthink things. It's only 150-200 RPM difference at freeway speed between the 2. Either one would be good. If you spend more time driving 70 than city driving then go with 4.88s. If you are on surface streets or keep your speeds limited to 60 and below than 5.29s would probably be better but neither one would be a bad choice and both are a huge bonus over stock gears

4:88 is alot stronger than 5:29 (more pinion teeth in contact with ring gear)

Do the 4:88 If you really think you need it with that tire size
