    Wow, what a binary conversation (for the most part).

    There is usually nuance to a situation.

    Plenty of good cops out there, but there are also plenty of dbags in a uniform who think the badge makes them special. :(..

    Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
    Well I was being a judgmental jerk who stereotyped all. I apologize for that, but I have seen my fair share and it scares the hell out of me. I went to a fire call for a mva. It was a neighbor of mine who t-boned a s-10 pick up backing out of a driveway. He was drunk and doing over 90 mph in a 30. The truck never saw him coming. Now that guy has to live with that. No matter if it was the riders fault or not, he impacted more than just his life. He hit the truck so hard he put it on its side. I wasn't on patient care, but the guys described the rider as "jello". He is truly lucky to be alive, but so is the s-10 driver. I am sorry for stereotyping Brunes, that wasn't fair. This guy and the ones who ride like that on public crowded roads are pricks. I fear though it is only a matter of time before this happens on my street. I just pray it isn't my family who backs out in front of them.

    Lots.
    This is how biker get their bad names around MD... The Adrenaline Crew. MD and DC cops deal with these guys all the time. If you're local you will know some of these spots... Governors Bridge Rd in davidsonville, outside Comcast Center, Holiday Inn in Baltimore, Bmore Xtreme crew (featured on the news a couple times every year for riding dirt bikes on the street), and chili cook-off.

    Rider's record their rides all the time. I've done it. It doesn't imply anything. It makes even less sense to do it while riding carelessly as it can be used as evidence against you.

    Well for the bikes anyway:

    Japanese = Rice Rocket

    Italian = Pasta Rocket

    So, VW, maybe = Kraut rocket?

    Commit a felony, and expect to experience a felony stop. As for the officers execution of the stop, it was piss poor.

    The charge of illegally taping the officer is pretty ridiculous though. This is purely a CYA on the police agency's part. I wonder what exactly they are so ashamed of that they wouldn't want there officers being taped?

    I really dont think the cop did what he did if the biker wasn't riding like an ass; I'd like to see what the rider was doing 10 min before what was aired.

    I am aware of what the bikes are capable of but I'm also aware you don't need a canyon or to drift to kill someone. I'm sure if you saw that on the freeway with your kids in the car you would be thinking a lot different but it all depends on the person i guess. From what your saying, I would need to open the throttle to be considered dangerous? Is doing a wheelie on the freeway at 50mph different then doing a wheelie at 70, 80, 90mph any less dangerous? All it takes is 1 bump or a second of mishandling your bike. Also the cop was ready just in case. If the cop wouldn't have had his gun ready and the guy ends up hitting him with his bike you would be saying "'i cant believe he didn't have his gun ready" instead of "why did that guy have his gun out." Damn if you do, damn if you don't. First rule of law enforcment, per the movie "Untouchables," you always go home safe.

    Yeah it wasn't the best stop but I've seen CHP stop speeding motorcycles almost the same way. Not the safest but it got the job done. Also, it was the state that decided to press charges. The cops don't decide which cases get charged or not. They brought the case over and if the states thinks there's a wrong then they charge.

    could this what the cop might be thinking? That's why he had his gun out?

    x2. Your only seeing what the media wants you to see.

    Why would any sane person get out of their car, in front of a bike if they thought they were going to get run over?

    Or you can just look on youtube and get the full video that the rider posted, and was already posted in this thread....

    So was the Cop actually gona shoot the guy? Come'on - put me on the jury - excessive force all the way.

    Same cop might pop the 12 year old kid grabbing his crotch.

    I don't know CHP does that technique as well. I'm pretty sure they have a reasoning behind that tactic. The reason? I have no idea. We would need to ask someone in the CHP. Probably, kind of boxing the guy in.

    If that motorcycle went towards him I think he could. A vehicle is considered a weapon. That would be an assault with a deadly weapon wouldn't it?
