To keep this simple, Ill just say that I have a 2004 4Runner v8 and drive train in my 1999 Tacoma. I am trying to us the stock 99 Evap box (mounted on the driver inner fender behind the fuse block). The 2004 4runner uses an Evap box that is mounted under the body, by the tank. I am attempting to use the old style evap system to keep from having to swap a pile of parts...

with that said, I have come up with a system that seems to function. I have the Fleebay version of Toyota's Techstream. With this I have gotten the following results. Teachstream has a 6 step process.

    Step 1: Pressure Equalize

    Vapor Pressure (Gauge) [VP G] : .735
    Vapor Pressure (Absolute)[VP A] : 762.7

    Purge VSV - Closed
    CCV- Open

Step 2: Purge w/ Can Control VSV open

    VP G : -1.5
    VP A : 760.5
    Purge VSV- Open
    CCV- Open

    Step 3: Pressure Equalize

    VP G : .735
    VP A : 762.7
    Purge VSV- Close
    CCV- open

    Step 4: Sealing System

    VP G : Start .735 then rises past 13
    VP A : Start .762.7 then rises past 775

    Purge VSV- Closed
    CCV- Closed

    step 5: Apply Vacuum

    VP G : -12.3
    VP A : 749.7

    Purge VSV- open
    CCV- Closed

    Step 6: Vacuum Seal

    VP G : rise from -12.3 to 13+
    VP A : rises from 749 to 775+

    Purge VSV - Closed
    CCV- Closed

To me, I would seem that the Purge VSV, CCV, and Vapor pressure sensor are working. However, the results in step 4 and 6, dont really seem correct to me. I would assume that these numbers mean I have a leak....

I should also note that that the fuel tank IS full. It says in the instructions that the fuel level should be between 3/4 and 1/4 tank... Maybe this is my problem.

I have not yet driven then truck yet with this new vacuum hose routing. I plan to in the coming days. I am typing all this in hopes that someone might be familiar with EVAP stuff and be able to tell me what I'm looking at.

yes, fuel needs to be between 3/4 and 1/4. It will not 'ready' unless in that range.

for the Evap monitor to run complete it requires 2 complete drive cycles, preferably with an over night sit. Coolant temp and air temp have to be within I think 15 degrees of each on a cold start.

    Is she throwing a code?

You want a picture of my EVAP box?

I am familiar with the parameters, I was really just hoping that someone well versed in emmisions monitoring could tell me if the results seemed correct or if I was going to get more codes. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Prior to rerouting some vacuum lines I was getting a P0446, and P0452.

As for the original question, if you're not throwing any CEL, and your handy dandy ecu tool is giving you readings I'd say you're fine.
