Like the title suggests, I am curious what everyone expects to get out of their trucks before they say goodbye to it.

Do you plan to keep it for a while, then trade it in? or are you going for the long haul? Personally I hope to get 300,000 miles out of mine before it dies, what about you?

I will have this truck until one of us is dead, and I'm 24 years old. Still got a long ways to go, my 2015 only has 9k so far

Though it will last longer, I wouldn't hang on to a vehicle longer than 10 years or 150k.

It will be my sons first vehicle when he turns 16 (he's not born yet, due July 1st). I average 9,000 miles per year so the Tacoma should be nice and barely broken in at 144,000 miles when I give him the keys.

If it holds up like my 2 first gens did which were both running great with 185k and 220k when I sold them. I'd like to get over 150k before I trade up to a 3rd gen if they prove reliable at that point.

I've always traded after 3 years or 60k or so, just out of boredom. I've also usually purchased more expensive vehicles but as I get older, I enjoy having an economical daily and other, nicer vehicles that don't rack up miles. That means this Taco could very well be around for the long haul, which to me is the distance that you can confidently start anywhere in it.

Dont put many miles on my truck. Average just 4K a year. So hoping I can 10-15 years out of it.

Same but my son's 11 so my love affair with my truck will probably still be going strong - he's gonna be out of luck! I average about 15k and it's a 15 so it would have about 75k on it when he gets his license.... still not even broken in at that point.....

My daughter wants it but she gets her license this year - she's getting my wife's 10 year old Escape and is po'd that her brother might get the truck!

I'll probably drive it til it dies (or I do...).

My 07 has 165,000 miles on it right now. We are taking it on a 5000 mile road trip next month. I'll be at 180,000 by the end of the year and I'll start looking for another truck sometime this fall or winter. But if there is any way to swing it I'm planning on keeping the Tacoma as a 3rd vehicle. I have little doubt that I can get at least 300,000 miles out of it but I'm at the point where I need to go back to a bigger truck. Have to wait and see how much I can get for it then and exactly how the other finances work out.
