I would think that painting the bumper would be pretty easy. Just rough up the surface first.

ive been wondering this for a while i guess ill just sand it first then go to work with the black klrylon fusion, do you think it'll hold up?

probably until you let the bumper kiss a tree or curb.

edit: don't know much about krylon, but I thought that was more for plastics.

It'll hold up at least as well as the chrome plating.

Seriously, I think it'd be fine as long as you properly prep the surface.

hey that fusion is supposed to work great on plastic. i painted a few pieces of my truck and a jeep im working on with black primer. it has a hardener and all that u mix with it. after a full hour u can handle lightly and a full day i can hit it with a knife and it wont chip or peel. its pretty durable. since i painted ive ran a HEAVY duty pressure washer over the paint washing the truck and it hasnt budged. im gonna take my rear bumper off soon and get that ugly chrome crap off and primer black it. it will look sweet 4 anyone that does it. the whole deal on that primer is about 70 bucks though. its expensive but it does real good.

i say prep it real good, then use a truck bed coating on it.....it would be black, and it should hold up pretty good, even when you offroad the truck. just my 6 cents(2 cents aint too much anymore:D).

just finished painting it with rustoleum....it turned out awesome! im so happy with the results and i saved about 300 dollars. i sanded with 400 grit first, then did about 5 coats and im gonna let it dry 48 hoiurs before taking it out.
