    My buddy and me just did the Rear Diff Breather mod. Most of the post show Rear Diff Breather cap relocated to the gas fill compartment standing up in the lower right floor area.
    We relocated our breather cap to the upper right corner at an angle.

    Note; The Rear Diff Breather cap seats straight up (180 degrees) on the pumpkin.

    My Question;
    Does it make a difference if the Rear Diff Breather cap sets straight up (180 degrees) or at an angle (90 degrees) ?

    Pretty sure it doesn't matter. Mines facing slightly down.

    Mine is the same way as yours. Yeah I don't think it matters. The replacement breathers are supposed to be always "open" since they are not so low to the ground and susceptible to let in water. I didnt check my new one but the original breather could only blow air out and not suck in and the new ones are supposed to can suck in and blow out (hence "always open"). Theres also some other people who have it in the top of the gas filler area too. I think we will be fine with it in that location.
    Now you might want to check your front diff breather too since your 4x4. It should already be raised up towards your battery somewhere. Not sure why they did the fronts but not the rear.

    Edit: Damn looks like im missing a rubber grommet (fuel door bumper). Haha oh well.

    Mine is just above the nipple that tue door closes on. It is horizontal with it. Haven't had any problems.

    Does not matter. Putting it where everyone else does (including myself) was stupid, it gets in the way when pumping gas. I since relocated mine behind the tail light.

    I was wondering about that. I held off doing mine till I saw some feedback on that location. Looks like behind the tail light is where it will go.

    Thanks for all response
    I have never noticed any water in the gas fill compartment, getting gas after driving through a rain storm and also checking after going through a car wash the compartment has always been dry.
    So, moisture really isn't the issue for me. I was just wondering about the breather cap installed at an angle vs. straight up as it is on the pumpkin.
    Thanks again
