Those stick on emblems add 50 extra horsepower. I swear they really do.

Now that you've expounded on your 4wd troubles, I totally say lemon. My 4x4 has had plenty of use in its first year, including some of the doo-dads like DAC and locking the ass end a couple times, and everything operated flawlessly. Worst I had to do was the occasional "go forward a few feet while wiggling the wheel" to get 4hi to disengage. Other than that, nothing.

All this shit going wrong in a new 10 is ridiculous. I say put a lemon claim on it and get one that was built right.

I wish I had kept my 2009 now, it was a trouble free rig. (well, except for the radio, but thats really not a big deal at all.)

How much for front and rears? How much for the install. Just need to stick a little coin a side for the inevitable.

I'm up in Canada actually. And the mud was very sandy and soft, and about a foot deep, underneath that it's all sandy. It was all moist, as the ground has only thawed in the last week or so.

Not sure how much you can but I would insist on dealer replacing your transfer case with new unit. point out on continues problems with 4wd. and have them replace it with new one.

I think it's more flukey than inevitable.
More irritating is the service manager called me up aroung noo, all pissed off. "What the heck were you doing to this thing", so I told him I was in 4L, diff locked, whatever. He tells me his buddy is a cop, and he has pictures of my truck at the "floodway", so there. ( http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&sourc...o5XODQ&usg=AFQjCNE6-zaTVLQpXBI--GYsc-ZYBSBVHw )

I have never off roaded this truck at the floodway, ever. There are no pictures and he's lying. Why do people even say that kinda shit?
I'm not making this up, he's telling me he can't just fix it, and has to get Toyota corporate involved. I ask him where this is going, he tells me well the truck has swamp grass under it and I better tell the truth. Like my warranty is voided if I'm not on pavement. Wowsers.

I'm just hoping they fix the damn diff, then I can argue about the T-case. The phone call ended when I told him fix it, and if there is a bill he can fax it to my lawyer.

There are 5 local dealers, I guess he's trying to stand out as the one that will screw a customer.
I am still amazed that he called me to say that. I should have told him I have naked pictures of his wife.

Are you in Vancouver? If so, may I ask what dealership? I'd certainly like to avoid that one in the future.

E-locked R&P is small compare to what should be to the weight of the truck. This is the same as it was on 1gen trucks. LC has 9.5 diff with e-locker. compare that to 8" in e-locked Taco and regular/LSD taco has 8.4" inch.
So regardless what gears people use there is a lot of strain on that 8 " e-locked system.

So what is this suppose to mean. Are you still living in fantasy land where this guy is making this all up and that Toyota never makes a product that breaks. If so bug off to kool-aid world as people try to discuss with this guy.

Do you have lemon laws in Canada? If so use it, otherwise it sounds like you'll just have something else go wrong later. Call the 1-800 Yota line and deal with Corp directly and blowoff that Service Manager. Goodluck, you seem like your fed up with Toyota and I don't blame you, maybe a Dodge would have treated you better? But I doubt it, let Corp handle it.

I would agree with this. From what I have seen on other forums, this has been a helper in the diff deciding to go. My 00 trd had the same sized rear in it. My 07 is a lot bigger truck. I have also heard that on 05-06 and some 07's they mis-heat treated the gears and made them more brittle. Who knows if this is the truth?

My elock diff went out at 58,000. I had the diff locked when it went, but I wasnt giving it much throttle when it went. I was going through a ditch and the most embarrassing part was having to get towed out by a ford. It was dissappointing, if it goes again, I will look at heavier axle options or larger ring and pinion to replace it with.
