    Hi there!

I was wondering is there a way to convert a normal NON TRD to have the feature of locking up the rear differential?

Do a search on this forum and google it. There are TONS & TONS of information about lockers, what types, different brands, selectables, LSD's, non-selectable, lunchbox lockers, you name it...it's out there and been done already.

Personally...I'd vote for the ARB air locker. Selectable but pricey. Awesome locker!!

Does anyone have a link to a site where a selectable rear diff locker can be purchased for a 2008 prerunner? I can't seem to find anything for the 08

    What kind do you want?

    There's the ARB -
    http://www.arbusa.com/

    Toyota e-locker swap -
    http://home.off-road.com/~kemanuel/elocker/elocker.html

There's also an Ox locker but I don't know if they make anything for the new tacomas.

Before jumping into anything, you gotta do a lot of research. You gotta know exactly what differential you have in order to find the exact part you'd need (and/or availability). Not only that but the installation, gearing, etc.

Thanks for the links! I've been reading about them, and I've decided on a selectable. Costs a bit more, but I think it'll meet my needs the best. As far as identifying my own differential, is that just a matter of looking up the part number that is stamped on it? I'm going to call ARB on monday and have a talk with them, I read alot of positive feedback about them on the net...

Well, after careful evaluation of what I need the differental for and how I use my truck, I opted for the Detroit TrueTrac. It'll be here Monday :)

It's been great so far! I haven't done anything extreme with it, but I have been in some moderate mud a few times, and it always grabs traction. I can feel it locking/unlocking on wet roads, especially going around corners. I'm very satisfied with it so far

It has been a while.. Work has tightened up their "filters" so to speak on the Internet sites that they block
