I changed my diff oil on my '11 TRD Sport couple months back because i was stuck in mud water above the breather.

I drained and added W75-90 with a friction modifier because I have a TRD Sport, but I just learned that I dont have a mechanical LSD. Is this OK?

I'm planning on changing it out again just to be sure theres less remnance of the water/mud from before...

It's not going to harm it.

I used to buy only the 80w-90 LSD GL-5 gear lube and use it in everything from BMW rear drives to 4x4 transfer cases to manual steering boxes...now it is getting MUCH harder to find and I only really need it for the LSD in the Jeep, and Eaton Sure-Grips in the 62 Town Wagon and 68 Utiline Pickup (both Dodge D100s)

I used mobil 1 synthetic 75-90. Easy to do . Always remove the top plug first (Fill Bolt) Then remove the drain plug last and drain. Screw in the drain plug and fill the rearend up till it starts to overfill and then screw in the top plug. Its important to always remove the fill plug first, because the last thing you want to do is remove the drain plug loose all your oil and not be able to remove the fill plug for one reason or another.

The plugs can be tight. If you're buying a socket, look for a 6pt., not 12. 24mm. Torque to 36 ft/lbs.

I talked to the dealer and he said I had to use 75/85 synthetic on my 06 taco sport with lsd at $71.00 per qt I thought he was nuts! He said if they used any other oil than that he would not be able to warrenty it at all! Has anyone else heard of this?
