Hey guys I made a video of the me moving my driveline around take a look and tell me what you guys think. I can move it slightly if I turn it back and forth but pushing up and down or side to side by the diff no play. BUT up and down by the carrier bearing there is a good amount of play you decide tell me what you think...?

Im tripping out because the shops around me are quoting me like 400 bucks just to find the issue whatever it may be

If they're quoting $400 to diagnose, the hell with that. Just buy a new diff from ECGS for about 1100, ship them yours back as a core and get the 400 or so core charge back, and just have a new diff in for about 700 out of pocket.

WHAT! where the hell was that cause Ill go there. Everyone I spoke to said you have two pinions the outside one they can get but they will have to tear apart my 3rd member to get to the inside one which is where they are charging me up the ass. But now as you saw in the video I think its more my center bearing than my pinion now dont drivelines have that natural little bit of play?

We drove like 10 miles...he heard the noise while driving...then we jacked up the rear end and set the speed like at 60 mph and he heardike a humming coming from the diff...he wants his boss to hear it to double check that it could be the pinion and bearings

That's a normal amount of play coming from your diff. Your driveline angles look fine. If theres no play in the joints I'd expect your u-joints are fine. The carrier bearing could be going, maybe.

If you have a go pro or know someone with one easiest thing to do would be strap it under the truck and replicate the sounds.

The carrier bearing part shouldn't really have any slop, the rubber holding it might but thats not the part that would cause noise if it's failing. The bearing could be going out and you'll get a high pitch squeal typically. Once it really starts going it'll make noise all the time though.

+1 Carrier bearings, when they go... there is no sound like it.... SQUUUUEEEEAAAALLLLLLLLL LoL.

I kept fighting with my heat shield for a long time, It would hit the weight on the driveshaft after runnin through a puddle. Then I just cut the damn thing. Not saying its your issue but I thought it was my 3rd when I heard it.... dealership couldn't figure it out LoL.
