Corey, dude, we are not the google or encyclopedias or customer service. We are people. You can call or e-mail the vendor if you have questions like this. And if you look around at prices on the interwebz, you could probabaly figure this out pretty quickly.

Yes, it is for a pair.

Here is a helpful link on a group buy I did earlier this year. It answers a lot of questions that you WILL HAVE:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/gr...lers-offroad-1st-gen-leaf-replacement-39.html

This is another very help link posted and stickied prominently for everyone'ss benefit:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1s...-compiled-list-helpful-links.html#post1820599

If you search this site for axle wrap, you will find lots of helpful stuff.

We appreciate it if you do some homework before shooting off a million questions that have all been asked before. You have hit on a pretty common topic...leaf springs and lifts...just have some patience and read up...like most of us do...:D..then ask us the tough questions you can't find answers for...

sorry fellas. But hey one other thing. I did a search for it and didnt find anything. When im coasting at low speeds while my rear end is shaking and throw my truck into nuetral, the shaking stops. Could this still be caused by the worn out leafs?

I highly doubt it. Sounds like its time to have it inspected. Take it to a shop.

well ye see, your triple flux capacitor is about to blow a gasket and if that happens, which it looks like it might have, you start leaking oil coolant from your spare tire hose, which causes an unbalnce in your braking system giving a reverse effect when you accelerate. Thus: shaking when accelerating.. haha

let me know if this helps 8D

Trans is working harder going up hill, so yes, GO get your transmission checked. Could be as simple as a flush and new fluid...

Any orange dusty coming from a joint cap? Relieve drive line tension and shake joints.

I'd bet that axle wrap cause an excess angle accelerating u-joint wear.

Axle wrap will be amplified at high torque loads ~ like take off.
The wrap will cause the u-joint to run in an out of balanace condition (Extreme angle). Ofcourse being drive line related ~ if you throw it in neutral then you remove the torque load it will quit shaking. Neutral will relieve the Wrap / Angle / and torque applied to the u-joint. ~ I'm betting the trans is just fine. A trans issue would likely display other conditions too.

Replacing your rear springs is a PITA if the OE front spring bolts are frozen in the sleeve. I had to cut one loose with the torch. A 200# guy on it with a sledge hammer + heat + penetrating oil for 3 days would not make it come loose.

It's like the u joint is all cockeyed. any info about this would be great because i'm trying to learn

So, the worn out leaf springs caused axle wrap, which caused the u joint to go bad, correct? sorry for all the questions

That is beyond bad that is total faliure and just shy of killing the drive shaft + beating the gas tank + every wire and fluid carrying line under your truck.

You can swap in a new SET of joints for now (FRONT & REAR). I'd do both and I'd buy a good qualit joint ~ not the cheapest china one you can find. A new front joint will get you back on the road but the issue that killed the front joint has traumatized the rear joint too I seriously doubt it's long term viability.

Do both now and avoid the risk of slinging the shaft later. This will buy you time until you can make a plan for the springs.
