I have a 2013 Tacoma 4WD with 265s, and I have a broken rear leaf. I'm trying to determine what my best option is in terms of replacements. I'm not necessarily trying to add lift, and if I did I'd want to keep it minimal. I'm seeing replacements that basically keep it stock from places like NAPA and Autozone, or leaf packs that add 2 inches of lift like the old man emu from ARB. I'd be looking to stiffen the load range if possible, because I have a topper and frequently tow a trailer... What options do I have beyond what I've listed?

The other questions that I'm attempting to answer are as follows:

What is the factory load rating for tacoma springs and are most aftermarket packs comparable?
If I were to go with an option that had 1-2 inches of lift would I need to replace any other parts to be compatible?

    Thanks

There was a factory recall for leaf springs because they often broke. May want to look into whether or not your truck qualifies for the recall. Toyota will replace your leaf springs at the dealership if so

I replaced the rear shackel(s), bolts and bushings along with the leaf springs. Not all necessary but I find it’s easier to replace rather than refurbish. How are your rear shocks since you will be in there anyway?

Edit: It’s not recommended to reuse u bolts.

If they haven't been replaced already, Toyota will replace the stock 2nd gen leaf springs under a warranty. You can check this website https://www.toyota.com/recall to see if they've been replaced, just put in your vin or plate number. The replacement leaf packs generally add about 1" or 3/4" lift after they've settled since they have an extra leaf, plus they're free under warranty.

I installed leafs from Alcan and they are outstanding, just pricey.
You give them your specs and tell them what you are looking for and they build them to do the job.

If you can't get the new TSB springs for free from the dealer then the next cheapest option would be to find a near-new set of used 3rd gen leaf springs. You can often find them for dirt cheap. That'll get you back to stock. Then if you want a little extra lift you could buy an add-a-leaf.

Nope. My truck doesn't qualify for the recall replacement deal, so I need to go with a true replacement. I'm basically stuck between doing a full lift on the truck or just replacing the stock springs. Gotta figure out how I want to spend my money.

How much lift do you get with option 1? I have about 380lbs all the time. I'm looking for 2 1/2 to 3" with the weight

Yeah I have a topper and I keep a whole bunch of gear and tools in the truck at all times and trailer frequently so I'm thinking 2 if I go with the Icon
