I had the TSB done in March. It went out again a 2 weeks later. The dealership said that the truck is within manufacteurs specs. They said it is only to fix a harsh ride. Like the TSB states. Bottoming out with no load and with no passengers is not within spec as far as I'm concerned. They had 2 company reps come and check it out and they said it is fine. Is it still supposed to bottom out on dips and bumps with the TSB performed??? I am getting very upset with Toyota 30 grand and the truck cant take a few bumps in the road. They said not to believe the internet about the TSB and that the people on this site didnt know what they were talking about. I think that is wrong and I would have never known about the TSB unless I found this site. Thanks

    getting there....
make sure that they put the 4 leaf packs on instead of the same 3 pack that was on there to begin with. quite a few dealers have installed the wrong springs when they did the tsb. thats what they did to the 06 i had when i brought it in the first time for it.

if they did put the right springs on......maybe go to autozone and get a set of the $25 helper springs......they make help out.

if you have the new parts on there and it is bottoming out, then I have a feeling that you're pushing your truck pretty hard.

They put on the 3 leaf. Corporate said it is within specs. It is supposed to bottom out according to them the harsh ride in the language is not to cover bottoming out they said all trucks bottom out and the TSB is not for this problem. I dont know what is harsher than bottoming out. I know that trucks ride stiff and I am willing to accept a stiff ride but too soft is a problem.

you're supposed to have 4 leaf. If they put on three leaf, you need to over there and explain to them they screwed up and they need to fix it. Make sure you still have your yellow shocks.

It bottoms out on intersection dips and RR tracks at normal speeds with the flow of traffic. Less than 35 mph. I only put my ATV in it. 340 lbs. I don't off road it at all. I always have my 2 car seats in the back and with my 40lb and 30lb kids it bottoms out. They even say it hurts them.

Grab a mirror, camera, or something so that you can look at the top of the spring behind your wheel. If the springs have an F at the end of the code on top, you've got the bad 3 leaf springs, if it has a G, they should be good.

They said it is correct and will do nothing else. I have the yellow still. Should I try a new dealer?

my dealership also did that. They stuck 3 leaf springs in and I called them back and said they put in the wrong parts. They denied it and I assured them and they re-checked and finally admitted it and gave me a rental. They ultimately screwed me, but I'll save that story for another day.

    Down with Lakeside Toyota!

i would go abck to the same dealer that screwed up and show them the tsb.......if they will do nothing after that, go to another dealer and explain that the other dealer's customer service is a joke, and you are looking to get it straightened out. sometimes, it helps to play other dealers over others.

they arent gonna lemon law something just because the dealer screwed up on the wrong parts install. they need to make it right by putting the right parts on, and it'll be night and day difference.

if they're being rude, then I'd go to another dealer. If they are being polite but firm, you need to print out a copy of the TSB and show them they are wrong.

When I brought it in originally I had the TSB and gave it to them. They even ordered new shocks. But mine doesn't require them. This is not fun

bring it in again and highlight what are the new parts, and tell them I said that they're stupid.
