    4" roughcountry lift 285/70/16
    hello all, first time Tacoma owner, 2017 Tacoma trd offroad and I love it!
    I rushed into a lift kit (4" rough country ) looks great! The Ride is ok. It seems the rear shocks are a bit firm. I'm thinking about replacing them with a softer ride shock. I drive mostly highway miles. Any suggestions? The rough country lift has a 2" block to lift the rear. Thx in advance!

    There's a reason why it's called "Rough Country". Blocks = stiff / firm. If you really want a quality ride, look into Camburg, Deaver, Bilstein, Icon, King, Fox, etc. Great IFS lift guide in the 2017 May/June issue of 4WD Toyota Owner. Treat your new Tacoma right! She'll love you for it, and last a very long time!!
    Have fun!!

    Welcome!

    Loose the blocks and add a 3 leaf pack. Wheelers offroad makes a nice one, rides great on and off-road. Also tows and hauls well.

    @Midnight-Steaks Some kits use universal shocks which can fit a wide array of different trucks and don't have vehicle specific valving. If you want to go over some of your options please feel free to pm me :)

    Thank you so much @Unchained 5150 :fistbump:

    @HeadStrong Off-Road
    Thx! I love my old school and new Toyotas!
    I will post some pics soon. @Mully

    Question: Would you recommend just swapping out the rear shocks? If so, which ones? I don't plan on any off-roading for a while. Just the bumpy Texas roads for now.

    Thx!

    You don't have to switch them out right away but if you wanted to it would be best to pair the rear shocks with the lift that you are either running or will be running so you can make sure it is adequate. If you want to pm me your desired set up we can go over your options.
