Disclaimer: This is not a buyer's remorse thread so please don't read anything as I'm saying as "whining". Merely seeking mostly feedback on if these things are correct and possible suggestions for improvement. If I made purchasing mistakes I'm open to investigating options.

    Model: 2nd gen. - 2010 Double cab 4x4 V6

    The upgrades:
    • ICON Air bumps instead of Wheeler's soft bumps (ICON
      56103 - 2.0 Rear Hydraulic AirBump Kit)
    • ATO's Shackle flip for droooooop
    • Longer shocks to accompany drooooop (56503R-EXT 2" VS Series Remote Reservoir Rear Shock)
    • U-bolt flip + striker plate for air bumps (Wheeler's offroad kit)
    • Super long brake lines (not yet installed)

    Previously installed:
    • Stock shackles (replaced)
    • Deaver #DS J66 (did not replace)
    • ICON 56503R 2″ VS Series Remote Reservoir (replaced, will sell later)
    • Wheeler's super bumps (replaced)

What I'm looking for is hopefully some helpful feedback on things I might have done wrong or need to change up in my choices. My ultimate goal is to run mostly rub-free 35"s and stay mid-travel(ish). I do a bit of crawling but I also like to drive fast in the dirt where feasible and within reason.

At this moment I have a strong suspicion that the deaver J66's are the wrong springs for me OR/AND that I need to re-adjust the shackle positions. I'm curious if the longer Ubolts were designed for thicker springs and I'm worried about them striking the air bumps as well. I'm almost certain I will need to add the air bump spacer in to prevent (total) spring inversion. That resting shackle angle looks really intense. I'm worried that when I put the bed back on I'm essentially going to be riding on my air bumps o_O

One of the very few things I know I got right is the droop shackle angle! I know it's supposed to have a slight angle on it to prevent the shackle from flipping the wrong way. Still, limit straps might be in the future as well to prevent the shocks from bottoming out.

Looking forward to some good feedback (and probably some shit posts)

oh yeah, absolutely magic. Also I forgot about this thread :( The ride is pretty good but I the overall truck is pretty stiff as it is. Now that the truck rides a little more level the rear isn't as hard as it used to be. no difference really from the non-extended travel icon's I had before.

I haven't gotten into anything too rough other than neglected city streets and hauling too much lumber. Below is the adjusted ride, a problem I had re-mounting the bumper. Ended up trimming the tabs on the bumper mount just like 1/2" or so.

Nice looking suspension setup! Would you recommend shackle flip for stock leafs?

Yes, but you'll want longer shocks because it increases the droop. It's not a "simple" install and an air chisel is a must IMO.
