Just an FYI, I've been hearing a noise which I thought was the spring pack and shackles. Like an old beat up truck everytime it stops at an intersection. But to my amazement it turned out to be the rear u-joint which had almost rusted stuck, as in no movement at all. Been doing too many flooded roads here in the past 5 months.
    Damn them ungreasable u-joints.

When you guys say you don't have them, are you just looking at the center for a grease fitting? The fittings are on the outside of 1 cap on every u-joint. I would be surprised if you didn't have fittings. I can see how they are missed if the shaft is in the right position with the fitting facing up.

I recall reading that only 4x4s have greaseable U-joints.

According to rockauto the 4x4 and prerunner use the same size u-joint. They use a 1 1/16 cap size. When time comes I will just use the 4x4 u-joint on my pre-runner.

Just fucking grease them. Then you don't have to replace them. Gawd!
