I'm installing a Gentex mirror and need to remove the stock mirror.
How does the rear-view mirror come off the windshield tab?
I messed a little with it but didn't want to force anything.
And I tried a search, coundn't find nothing.

On most vehicles there is a little set screw at the base where it attaches to mount on the windshield.

No screw. I just replaced mine to a Gentex (temp/compass and map lamps -love it!) and I used a flat screwdriver to "lift" the little plastic flap that locks it in the glass mounted bracket and pull the mirror up. No force is needed.

not sure what PM means but I want to buy one of these lift brackets. even at 5'10 the first complaint I had with the truck was poor windshield visibility. I don't remember having that problem in my '08. anyways please let me know how i can buy one of these.
