I am putting my side 'Tacoma' badges back on, black now. I had them off for a while and the front looks naked without them. I will add the mountain decals that go with the lettering. Can anyone take measurements or know off hand from the bottom of the door, up and forward of the door where the emblem is suppose to sit? I thought I seen someone ask this before but I have searched and can't seem to locate it.

    That is good info.

    Where did you find it?

I would like to have that for all the badges, SR5, V6 and 4x4 for future reference.

    Thanks.

Also, how did you remove it in the first place? Mine are chrome and I would like black.

Fishing wire. I used mono fishing line. Get behind the emblem and with a sawing motion, work your way through the emblem. The string will probably brake a few times. I then used a heat gun and heated up the glue and used my thumb to get most of it off, then sprayed Goo gone to remove the rest. Followed it by a good clay and wax.

I removed my chrome badges and replaced them with black badges ordered from Amazon. Unfortunately the new ones were for the second gen. They still look good on white. 23DE896C-F444-4546-9444-3608E2A455ED.jpg

I have some double sided 3M tape knocking about - think that'll be ok to stick them back on?

Yeah I used super wide 3m tape and cut it out. It's kinda anal but I tried just doing small pieces and if you look down on the emblem, you will have gaps between the truck and emblem, allowing dirt and debris to get between.

It is an adhesive cut up in a zillion pieces all stuck to a sheet. You peel it off the sheet (it all stays together) and apply it to the emblem. Then pull all the exposed pieces off. They comes off anywhere they are not stuck to the emblem. Easy peasy! I used two sheets, one on top of the other and it worked perfectly with no adhesive showing.

Good to know! Thanks again mate, I’ll order some this evening. Sadly I won’t be attaching the emblems to a supercar, so the Taco will have to do.
