Ok, I was wondering which would be cheaper, to rebuild an automatic transmission, or to convert to a manual transmission. This would be for an automatic 1999 prerunner. Oh yea, I don't have any problems with my tranny as of yet, I'm just wondering in case I have some future problems.

    thanks

If it were me I would just convert it to a manual.

    Cheapest would be a rebuild.

if you were going from manual to auto id say go for it... but auto to manual will be pretty involved and likely more expensive. you will have to get the mounting for the pedal, the hydraulics for the clutch, the center console... not to mention buying the whole trans which you will have to do either way, but i think rebuilding the auto would be the cheapest route.

All right, thanks. I was hoping a conversion would be cheaper, but oh well. *maybe I'll get lucky and not have to deal with it * :D
