Broken and scratched tailgate, cracked rear tail light lens, coffee stain in driver seat.
My brother just told me tonight that Toyota has issued a recall of 2006 Tacomas because of a faulty ring and pinion seal, or perhaps a seal at the diff. ? Has anybody heard of this news.

I am going to contact a dealer tomorrow, I bought my truck used so I might not get any paperwork from Toyota. :(

I know that they recalled the Tundra because "a rear propeller shaft may separate at the joint."

Yeah, I believe he's referring to the Tundra. That's the only recall I know of and it would be all over the media if it were the Tacoma.

There was a recall involving 108 2007 Tacomas involving the propeller shaft with production dates May 30th 2007 - June 4th 2007.

Interesting... That would've explained why I got a different type diff when mine was replaced.... Now I really wonder why it's a different type.... (Not to mention a little irritated that I had to modify my skid plate reinforcements because it's a different size/shape than the old one.....)
