See my write up on Level 8 Trackers. I have the polished, but they make them in black too.

if your truck came stock with 16s, then you should have no issues clearing the calipers... if 17s, stick with 17s for aftermarket wheels...

the backspace would impact fitment against the face of the caliper brake vein if the holes are dimple died or stamped like steel wheels... with the wheels being alloy, they are cut so they won't have the inner lip that has notoriously scraped against the brake calipers on previous years...

also, WheelersOffroad, a TW vendor, sells the procomps for tacomas that looks similar and fits similar to the MT classics... you can contact them directly for some advice...

as for tire shops and 4wheelparts, they will base their reply on previous issues that have come up before with tacomas and aftermarket wheels...

problem there is that not all trim levels of the tacoma are consistent so what works on a non ABS first gen, will not work on a first gen ABS, and what works on a second gen that came with stock 16s will not work with a second gen that came with stock 17s due to the brake caliper size differences...

unless you can find someone at either store who has a tacoma and knows them well...

i used to buy my wheels at America's Tire by my house because they had a guy there who owned a first gen taco and wheeled it, so he was aware of the fitment issues... the other guys in the shop had no idea about tacomas and swore that most aftermarket wheels would not fit...

same goes for 4wheelparts as most of their customers and employees are jeep or domestic truck owners...

You have to get the 3.625" backspacing. I know because I have them. The other ones scrape the calipers.

Huh, never knew about those, but they look to be the same as the IIs, but come in a few other sizes to fit trailers and other applications.

I know this thread is a little old but I've been looking around about these wheels in 16x8. The Classic 3 offers 4.5" at 0 offset. (vs Classic 1 3 5/8" and -22mm.)

It has been demonstrated that the Classic 1 at those specs fit.

I've read that the 4.5"/0 works with other wheels. Anybody know if that holds true with the Classic 3?

Ordering some Classic III's in the 4.5 backspacing. Wish me luck.
