Wanted to get some suggestions for camping spots for families. We have an infant and have cut our teeth on fdr state park over the last year and we are ready to venture out for new adventures. Soooo. What's your favorite family camping spot in Georgia?

I've always been a fan of Stephen C. Foster state park down in the Okefenokee. Rent a canoe or a jon boat for the day, see plenty of gators, catch tons of trashy mud fish and swat mosquitoes that are big enough to be registered with the FAA.

I think selling the wife on any of those benefits (gators, big mosquitos) is going to be a hard sell. Reminds me of a trip we took to southern florida years ago.

Amicalola state park, for the next few weeks will be awesome. Before all the leaf peepers arrive, it'll be great after that too just maybe a little cold for the baby. Lots of Fire breaks and dirt roads to ride and explore. Creek side primitive camping and not far from several shopping and dining venues if you want to change it up.

Ah amicalola...I love that park. Wife and I hiked to the top of the falls and then to the hike inn during the last blizzard. It was a blast. Snowed/iced in for a week. Oh the things you do before children
