I have a bare bones 4x4 5spd 96 Reg cab Taco with a single DIN radio w/no tape deck or anything(pocket underneath). I recently picked up a Alpine CDA9815 from a buddy and would like to install it in the stock location. Are there any aftermarket install kits that I should use? I just picked up this truck not to long ago so I am not that familiar with the aftermarket.

I contacted Crutchfield and they told me there is not one, but on ebay I found one that looks as though it may work. I am confused and would like to get this thing installed.

If anyone could point me in the direction of a wiring kit and dash kit I would appreciate it.

You can get the dash kit w/pocket, and the plug that will plug directly into your toyota harness from any local stereo shop, best buy etc depending on where you live. I don't remember the brand, but it's super easy to install yourself.

    Thank you.

Also, all of the removal instructions i have found online show knobs for the AC/Heat controls. I have sliders, how will this affect my ability to remove this stuff since there are no knobs to pull off?

I believe with your year tacoma, the slider black 'knobs' should still pop off allowing you to remove the a/c face.

Pick up a scosche dash kit from Wal-Mart ($10 to $15). Also, check ebay for wire harnesses that will match up to your stock wiring. Then you'll need to match up the wires to the Alpine Wire Harness that your friend should have given you.

    Try this harness from EBAY
