Hey guys! As you know I just got my Taco about 2 weeks ago. So I would like to know what maintenance you suggest/recommend @ 44000 miles? Please please let me know. And also do you think I should have the differential done?:confused::confused:

    getting there....
oil and filter change(synthetic maybe), rotate tires, replace spark plugs(v6, and only if they werent changed @ 30k miles), and doing the diff would be a good idea also, even though it doesnt need to be done until 50k.......i did mine @ 20k,and went with synthetic mobil1 75w90. and i think mostly everything else is just about checking things over. also, you may wanna clean your throttle body out, cause they do actually tend to get gummed up after a while.(i also run a bottle of techron in my gas tank bout every 5k miles, and i can tell a difference).

you should be good to go after that:)!!

    What year is your taco?

Things to check..... but most likely won't find any problems at that mileage. You bought a used vehicle - never 'assume' anything.

Check air filter, replace if dirty.
Check transmission fluid -level Ok? make sure it's not foamy or 'dark' in color.
Check Radiator fluid - level OK? Make sure its clear and not opaque
Check power steering fluid - level Ok? Make sure its not foamy or dark
Check front diff fluid - level OK? make sure its not foamy, discolored, or dark.
Check Transfer case fluid - level OK? Make sure it's clear and not dark
Check Belts for wear & cracks.
Check for signs of leaks and/or fluid stains in and around engine and mostly from underneath.
Check driveshafts & U-joints. Lubricate zerks.
Check Brakes & brake fluid - level OK? Make sure its not dark.
    Check tire pressure

Overall - crawl underneath the truck and look around.....Get comfortable with the underside and take notice to things - wear items, etc.

That's just my own regimen of what I check anytime I get a used rig....gives me peace of mind knowing I've checked it all and can tend to anything that's questionable. It's a bonding experience....

Do you have the LSD in the diff? If YES - make sure you get the proper (and amount) friction modifier in with the oil. Lots of threads about what folks use in terms of oils.

    Good Luck!

Are you guys all using synthetic? Just bought a 2010 tacoma and am contemplating whether not I should go synthetic.
