Dimpled is much better. Most drilled rotors don't have chamfered edges, which can reduce cracking. Ones that are chamfered are much more expensive that what most people feel comfortable buying.

Keep in mind that almost no shop will ever turn anything but a solid rotor. So drilled, dimpled, slotted are considered throw away.

Bedding your new pads/rotors properly is the best way to prevent problems. Keep in mind that when it's time for new pads again, the old rotors, if not cut up from debris, can be cleaned and reused, just bed the new pads again. I've gone up to 150k on OE rotors this way, even on vehicles where the brakes were abused. That's about 3 sets of pads.

You should already have the bigger brakes, if not, why would they not fit your 16s? I know they won't fit 15s 6 lug wheels....I tried (cheaper and softer crawling tires in 15"). I have American Racing Mojave ATX 16s and they fit fine (within 1/8-1/4" tolerance).

    Oh no. Just a pair.

Edit*** Due to shipping and tax, it was $26 for the pair. I'll just have to bundle the next two pair in with something else. To save on shipping.

In my experience ebc is junk. Stop tech makes really good stuff.

You can buy the worlds greatest brake pads, calipers etc. but they will not stop the underlying issue of why your rotors are warping/poor brake pad wear.

Stop driving your truck like you stole it.

I'm not sure I'd say 'junk', but they aren't as great as the marketing hype and pretty colors make them out to be. They build a rep with the Honda crowd back in the day, and spread it around like peanut butter. I put them in the same corner as K&N, Armor All, SplitFire plugs and Amsoil.

There are definitely equal or better choices for similar or less $.

I've had EBC on all my work trucks, including those that regularly pulled max payload type duty, with no issue. Sorry to say but I'd never throw a stoptech setup on one of my trucks. I have a lot better things to spend three grand (CAD) on then rotors and calipers from a half ton.

I agree thought they are getting crazy now with the colours. It made sense on trucks when there was three classes, like basically everyone making aftermarket pads, between everyday OEM equivalent, low dust high coefficient pads, and higher coefficient high dust pads. Now though with the Red and Orange series being added to the truck line... yeah it's just market overload.

Weak rotors on these trucks, out of all my vehicles I own the Taco is pretty much babied and yet went through two sets of oem rotors before I switched up and now no issues. Both oem sets were bedded in per procedure and still had issue. There have been posts on this before and it seems like 10'up tacos were more prone to the issue suggesting maybe a supplier or quality change in the rotors by Toyota.

Why would you spend 3 grand? Rotors and pads on my truck was just under 250. I had ebc on my track car, they were junk.

I thought you were talking about the kit listed on page one which is a total upgrade as in new larger calipers and rotor.

As far as brands go EBC has a pretty decent reputation as do several others. There is a difference though here between personal opinions so I'll leave it there :).

Funny, I looked up the big brake kit from them for my Tacoma because someone mentioned it here. I was blown away by the price. About 4x what new OEM calipers, rotors, and pads would run me. Can't even imagine the margin on those kits.

Yeah it's pretty epic for what is really the equivalent of a stock front end F150 brake system lol. Honestly the only reason people don't do a lot of homebrew swaps in the front and rear is because of the complexity of getting the ABS system proportioning just right. I mean I've seen it done a few times on trucks that don't see legal pavement all day but it's not common. I'm sure it took Stoptech a little work to get the system right but, now that they have, I'm sure they make a killing off of it.
