Good for him - I went and enlisted after going to college for a few months. I hardly ever went to class just hung out at the gym playing pick-up basketball and was flunking most of my courses. Went to the recruiter without a clue as to what I wanted to do. But I had two older brothers that were in the Army; the oldest a SSG in the Signal Corp the other a CPT Aviator. Hey, they both had "nice" cars so I figured why not. The recruiter I guess had a quota for helicopter mechanics and I had a brother in Army Aviation so that's what I got. I ended up being a Helicopter crew chief - I loved that job. I then did a hitch in the Air Force (communications) - it was OK but not as much fun as being a crew chief. I finally grew up a bit got a few college college credits and got out. I went back to college got a degree and went back into the Army and to OCS and at the ripe old age of 29 with almost 9 years of military service became a 2LT.

Great story and thank you for continuing to serve. Similar college experience for my son. Army was a solid choice and I believe more young people would benefit from serving prior to college. He is out at Hunter, and I am looking forward to heading out and seeing him in a couple of weeks.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Coat the threads with anti-seize compound, you will thank yourself later.

I did not have to raise or lift it at all. Turned the wheel out so I had plenty of room to work.

I was never there (assigned there I have visited) but my brother flew out of Hunter AAF - He met his wife there she was a nurse in Savannah which is a pretty nice city - or at least was years ago - my impression was it was not the typical military town.

Good advice - especially since I plan to take my Taco on the beach and expose it to salt water as well on some muddy trails.
    THX for the heads up.

You might want to put either the “main” bolts or some shorter “keepers” in the threaded holes in the frame so they don’t fill with mud and/or corrode.
