Red Bullet VVTi Solenoids GB (Primary GB CLOSED)

I won’t even put money towards new shocks. I was going to but couldn’t put myself to it. It would be sweet but not tie up $3,500ish for a year sweet. Figure md I could snag some off the TW buy and sells but they go too fast or the stars aren’t lined up with the cash on my end when they pop up.

 

Totally with accutune at least it was 50% and I have a backup set but still 10 month wait

 

True, it sorta sucks to see a few hundred bucks go out and then have to wait some more, but I just think of my friend who waited 377 days for his widebody kit for his car. If he can wait, so can we...

10 month wait on new shocks
12+ weeks on a new bumper
10+ weeks on some lights
2+ months on solenoids
12 months+ plus on some Ripp coil packs
2+ years on JFR
2+ months on fab apt
1+ months new calipers

At least trucks are not down but you get used to waiting. Amazon culture we want it NOW!

But at least no news is good news. better than hearing the deal fell through or you wake up to find out your bumper will never be delivered because of crapshoot companies (I was in on the whole Pelfrey debacle)

While I wait for these. I've been considering buying those exhaust cam gears. Anybody know if they would pair well with these or would they cause any valve interference issues?

Should be an issue the folks that tested these out are running them. Most of us waiting are running the cam gears

Should or shouldn't? Just want to be sure since it seems like no issue. But you wrote Should in the first sentence. Just want to make sure before i pull the trigger on the gears lol. Also thanks for the response.

 

The original tester of these solenoids installed them on his truck which had the 2deg retard Exhaust cam gears.(12TRDTacoma)

From my limited knowledge, valve interference is usually due to incorrectly calculated piston size/design, incorrectly grounded/sized camshaft, mechanical failure, and/or a combination of those three. I don't think earlier activation of the single VVTI will cause IN/EX valvetrain interference. Engine valvetrain gurus....correct me if I'm missing some logic!

 

They are not an issue. I have already helped to install "these" on a truck with cam gears.

 

Not sure where I learned this, but I thought the VVTI is a non-interference engine. In other words, the valves cannot contact the pistons.

Am I mistaken in that belief?

 

The 1GR is an interference engine.
