    Hello all,
Just a quick question. I have a 2011 Tacoma with white"4x4" emblems on the rear mud flaps. I would like to coat, paint or apply something to just the 4x4 part to make it glow at night in the headlights of someone behind me.

Would anyone have any suggestions as to what to buy and where to get it to try to accomplish this kind of a project?

    Thanks. Red Dream

According to my wife, you can get glow in the dark fingernail polish. this would be cheap and easy.

I went with the glow factor, honestly, both would be easy to achieve with a little searching.

I know that this is not the reflective "4x4" logo, but on my old truck i applied some blue reflectors; very good at getting your attention!

On my new truck I applied Orange stick on reflectors. (later found blue ones on marker stakes you use for the snowplows)

Thanks to all for the suggestions on the reflective 4x4 idea. Sorry for the conflicting wording, I should have been a little more specific. I have some good ideas thanks to your suggestions. Thanks again.

You are asking for trouble putting amber relectors on the rear, as amber indicates front, with red being rear. You might drive it for years with no issue, or you run into that one LEO with a chip on his shoulder and you'll wish you never did that. Just an FYI. Red would be legal for sure.

Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
Scotchlite tape might work. You'd have to rough up the plastic and clean with alcohol before application for it to stick. Since the 4x4 is raised, it should be easy to trim the tape to fit after applying.

Is that right? I did not know that. Thanks for the heads-up.

I was looking for a reason to go back to blue, which I had for 19 years on my Toy Pickup with out comments. (I had been pulled over a number of times for frivolous reasons, with the impression they were just itching to give me a citation for something, but never did) (now don't tell me blue means I'm impersonating a police vehicle:rolleyes:)
