Who here is running a regeared 5 Lug?
If so, what gears with what size tires?
Did you throw in a locker while you were at it?
    Shop or DIY?
    What parts?
    How much?

The more you let us know, the better. It'll help out anyone else deciding to Regear.

I'm at stock 3.58 on 32s. I live in Arizona so the mountain inclines are horrendous. I'm revving 4k+ climbing them.

4.10 should be the recommended gear, but I want one lower. More than likely 4.56. A little shorter gear, but I know I'll throw 33s on my truck one day when my tires go out. I don't care a lot about losing MPG, I want better performance.

What's everyone opinions on lunchbox/automatic lockers?

In order to run 33 tires, I would suggest 4.10 gears.
If you have the money, have ECGS build a rear diff with 4.10 with an ARB locker (about $1500 plus shipping). You can do the install yourself, this would include running the air line to your ARB compressor. Pending on what kind of compressor you get, you can also have on-board air compress to air up tires.

As for lunchbox lockers, the only one I considered was Powertrax. There are two designs, Powertrax Lock Right is recommend to be used on manual transmissions. Powertrax No-slip Traction should be used on automatic transmission. If your 5 lug is a daily driver, this is not the recommended setup, because when you do left/right turns the Powertrax will engage. Having a rear locker engaged on pavement does not sound like good news.

i have 456 with arb on 31's now and i kinda would like to go to 488 cause my shifter rattles from side to side violently in idle on dirt roads and its kinda annoying and always having to push the clutch in and out to keep it from stalling. before with 29's it would coast up a bridge in idle even with a trailer and was perfect on dirt . but had bad interstate speed with 29's . now its kinda even like stock set up. good interstate and ok of road but could be better. i thought about seeing if a transfer case could be added just to get a low range even tho there is no front wheel drive set up.

With 456 on 31s, your Speedometer should be showing it going faster than it actually is? Unless you adjusted it.
