I think I'm gonna' drink the Koolaide and buy a Tacoma one of these days. I don't want an extended cab, let alone a double one. But, I do want two things that can be had together in just about any other vehicle.

In the base model I can get an automatic but not cruise. In the harder to find Prerunner I can get cruise with the SR5 package, but not an automatic. I've read the threads here and at Toyota Nation regarding cruise retrofits and I'm grateful for the intrepid souls who've blazed these paths. I'd consider getting the kit from the shop in Saginaw and doing it myself. Heck, I'd even buy a truck there, have the shop install it, and drive back to the west coast. Another option would be to buy one in the Southland, where dealers will install some flavor or another of cruise (I've yet to find out which) and drive it home. But that's in the 'right to work' zone, and I'm able to afford a new truck because I earn a Union wage. Bad karma in my book.

I'm sure that more than a few folks here have sorted this out. I'd be grateful for your advice.
