Hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the idea! I can probably add a small tote full of something with a pillow on top that he could lay on.

Sent the 1" block through the bed cross member last weekend. Not nearly the surface area on the block as the oem mount has.

I think I'm going to make a strap that bolts to the bed out of 1/8" plate to fix this. Basically something like this -u- (imagine the ends of the u aren't there lol) I think things are too think to be able to weld anything structural to it. Open to other ideas though.

I'm hoping I can get away with just putting a piece of 1/8" plate with a larger surface on the others after I pull them straight.

Ran Red Elephant and Mill Creek yesterday. Gently kissed a tree with the Nest and bumper. No damage though, just sappy. The 4r ripped his flare off and the heep ripped off the corner of the factory bumper.

    Only picture I took.

I do still have some ubolt plate rub on the shock. I've got about another 1/8" I can grind off and hopefully I'm good. @Speedytech7 I tried flexing on a few things the best I could and still had an air gap on the lower mounts. I wasn't on the bumps yet either though. Uppers have plenty of room.

Maybe as a fix and for beefing the mount you could put a piece of C channel steel over it. Glad your mounts aren't scrubbing, as long as the shock isn't in the leaf too hard it should be okay but something's eventually gonna wear.

I also found it amusing that the Cherokee my buddy just bought has zero recovery points! I don't understand why anyone would build a jeep without them or even why Jeep didn't include them from factory. This is the 2nd semi built jeep I've seen with nothing but axles to tie to.

My buddy had a Grand Cherokee ZJ and it didn't have any tow points either. I pulled him out of snow once and tied off to the trunk latch catch because it was the most stout thing and I didn't trust his axle links if I tugged on that.

Do they make C channel that deep?

Depends on what your local metal place stocks, but you could always cut the top off some 4x4 steel too. But I don't think it needs to be too deep, just needs to bend less than the bed crosmember and distribute the load, so ideally you'd have it cover 8 in or so, 4in on either side after the frame mount.

That's true but for the one that is blown out I'd need some way to attach it to the bed. Maybe I could try and tack it in a few spots. Afraid of either burning through the thin stuff or not getting any penetration on the reinforcement piece.

I think if you predrill and weld a nut on the c channel and then lay some 1/2" welds all around it it'll be plenty good. Then you could later stitch the rest of it in, just need to favor your arc on the side of c channel to avoid burn through.

Could cut the end off the x member too and put nuts inside and hold em with a wrench and bolt the c channel on I guess

    Stuff. Also things.
I ran into the same issue with the bed spacers after Moab last year. My bed was sagging off to one side and it was because the spacer had dented the bed mounting channel like yours did. Not a great design for anything other than mall crawlers.

When I pull the bed for my frame plating and shocks, I’m gonna plate it up right there under the bed and make my own beefed up solid spacer instead of the one that Daystar uses.

It pains me to admit this but I finally punctured an ST Maxx sidewall to the point where it leaks air. It's a slow leak but a leak none the less.

I've officially put 100k on the truck and it decided to celebrate by seizing both idler pulleys! :bananadance: Easy enough to fix though.

Yea, it would be nice to be caught up with them all but as long as the motor keeps going I can limp it along.

Dude as soon as I can drop my tank I’ll let you know. Build is taking way longer then expected. So many speed bumps in my way. Still making progress though.
