So when I first got my yota I read about the frame recall. So i decided to bring it to the dealer to see if they would look at it and do there thing( I had no idea what they would do exactly). When I went it I told him my truck year (1997) they had a recall on the frames. He said since it was Montana the frame isnt rusted and they dont need to check it. At first i was glad but now that I think about it I dont know the original location my truck has always been. I bought it from a local guy here, but he got it from a old guy who towed it behind his rv everywhere.
Should I go back in and get more info from there or what?
Or is the dealer right and I have nothing to worry about?

Look under the truck at the frame especially near the leaf spring perches. If there is little or not rust you should be okay. You should also try another dealer to get the recall undercoating done if your frame has not rusted through.

I would get it checked like he said, the dealer shouldn't be objecting lol they make a good chunk of change off of these frames.
