4Runner!

 

I already have a 3rd gen 'runner! (it's currently stripped of its' bumpers and skids though



And we've got a 4th gen as my GF's Daily

 

Taco, when it comes out. Diesel! (Hopefully)

 

Supercharge the 3.4 you will feel better

 

My Tacoma has a 3rz, so no super charger. I'd have to go turbo but don't really want to put that much money into the truck

 

That 1st gen looks amazing! Dang you sold is not too long after I sold mine I assume then man? Great work still too!

 

TRD use to have one and I was concidering it at that time.

If I boosted my 3rz in my '03 I'd turn to a LCE turbo kit. I've heard nothing but bad about the supercharger and the 3rz together.

 

relentless taco, im wondering if after you cut off the sheet metal if you have to redrill all the mounting holes in the fender or what you did there?

 

factory clips were left on the flares, and the factory holes in the sheetmetal which correspond were left in the sheetmetal were left as well. Within the inside of the fender flares, the metal strips that were cut and bent in were redrilled for the couple of mounting holes on the lip of the flare. I've seen flares cut and then just attached with just the clips rather than have the lip bonded back to the flare and screwed into the sheetmetal but the clips break rather easily without the support of the screws into the sheetmetal

 

I'm still waiting for my DIY rear bumper for a 3rd gen 4Runner.

 

Ha I know man! Things have been crazy around the shop. Trying to catch up right now rather than bury us more. Released a new bumper for the 1st gen Taco's recently as well as some FJ sliders, my 4runner really should be coming up pretty soon with most other projects out of the way.

 

All this talk about hacking fenders....dammit . Do you remember where you got the black flares for the 07? They looked fantastic. Not being able to find decent flares is only thing keeping me from firing up the Dewalt. Thanks

 

If it comes to buying fenders, I've found that the regular cab models were designed without the plastic flares (no holes to fill, etc.).
I think I measured and found that they gave at least 1" of extra room.

Ah thanks, I was wondering how I may of missed a damn good looking set of after market flares on the market.

 

I'm looking into doing the same thing to my 2005 double cab Tacoma. Is there a specific size of flare I should be looking into buying?

Are you running any spacers? I'm looking to jump to 35s and wondering if I'm going to need to pull the 1.25" spacers off of my rear to clear..??
