    Had an emergency call to the job site this morning so I missed our local ceremony but I laid my poppy at the cenotaph on the way home

    We had a call that took us into the hospital so we had our moment of silence while doing paper work/putting our cot back together. Both in the hospital and over the radio (Provincial channel) we were notified to not have any communication outside of emergency talk out of respect.

    Our local ceremony was extremely well attended. Our Fire staff got called out somewhere mid ceremony, I felt bad for them. One of the things I really noticed was how our local community lost a lot of our WW2 veterans this year. We had maybe half as many as last year, and two had to be brought by handibus. It's sad because I don't get out to the Legion often and I haven't noticed the way things are going. Lest we forget.

    Hopefully next year the wife and I will have time to go out to Nanton for there ceremony next year. Most of my family was in bombers in WW2.

    Not sure if you guys heard anything about this , but in England at the Tower of London they installed ceramic poppies in the moat , one poppy for every single Commonwealth soldier killed in World War 1 , almost 1 million
