I'm only interested in the non-flip key. Maybe I need to buy one like it and swap in the circuit - but I'm not that motivated for one.

In the video I just noticed that you're using just the board...does it not being in the key casing help with range? I've tried pressing and holding the button down a bit and the results are the same. Still need to be close to the vehicle.

Same problem as mine. Range is short and function is "clunky".

The remote key is no longer sold because the small circuit board can not support a big antenna like the OEM remote. The new design FLIP key with a much larger circuit board is able to house a much bigger antenna. The range from reports is same as oem or even further.

Just wanted to give some feedback. Received my flip key a few weeks ago. Programmed it with techstream, took it to the locksmith to get cut and loving it ever since! Great build quality as well. Thanks!

    Still stock...
So, I gotta ask... What's the magic of the manufacturing? How is it that this remote key or flip key--either one--with FCC ID BAB237131-056 is the only remote key or flip key that will work on these (or at least some of these) first gen Tacomas? I ask as I'm interested in the non-flip remote key only, even with range issues, and would pursue getting an inferior product with another FCC ID if there was any way I could program it to work on my Tacoma. I realize I'm asking the secret of your trade here, but I'm very interested indeed.

This might help. Did for me anyways... my range is stupid far now.

So is this flip key available directly through you? I don't see it on your site or ebay and I am no where near a distributor.

I have a non-flip key for sale. Even though the panic button says "hold", it does not mean that. Press the button and boom. Done it more times than I care to count. Went back to my old unit. No more annoying my neighbors.

$25. The key blade will have to be swapped.

I'm not too happy with the performance of the remote either. I bought and cut two keys and plan to keep them as spares (unless someone wants to buy them and try to improve on the range). Going to install a 2-way paging alarm and call it a day.

I'm really enjoying my antenna extension mod with the stock remote even more than the two-in-one. MUCH longer range.

Does anyone know where the receiver is for the keyless entry?
I bought my first gen a few months back ... and the keyless entry is an after market one and doesn't work (probably a bad battery, honestly).
I'm trying to verify which one I have and then get a keyless remote.

Any flip keys been revitalized in the last 7 years? Hate my FOBs and they fall apart on occasion
