You can do it for much cheaper with the kb voodoo kit and SmartStart module from Directed/Viper.

here is the link to kit http://www.kbvoodoo.com/shop/remote-start-kit-for-toyota-tacoma-2016-2017

As @ratcityrain mentions, you can do it a LOT cheaper if you DIY. Scroll to my signature for my DIY writeup. .

@KB Voodoo option is also good if you want some of the stuff done for you already, and support if you need it.

Thanks. Been loving mine on hot Georgia summer days. Leave the AC cranked to MAX and remote-start the truck from my phone a few minutes before I go out to it. SmartStart is also real handy for those "wait, did I lock it or not" moments as I'm walking into the building... Just issue the lock command from my phone and all is well. :)

We have had a mild summer here in WA state, but I still use it all the time

I did notice the other day that mine did not lock from the app on my phone, but remote start from phone still works. Been too lazy to troubleshoot lol

I have PTS are there any remote start options that:
    1. either use your current FOB or completely replace your fob?
    and
    2. don't have to stop the engine when you get in the truck?

Yeah, I get it. Busy here this summer. Check the Lock lines. That's the likely culprit. Past that I don't know.

As @KB Voodoo states, Pretty much all the remote starts are for PTS Tacomas. They're the ones that are "remote-start-ready" and don't need a fancy setup.

The stop the engine when you open the door thing is Toyota. Want it to be different, you either need to switch to a non-PTS Tacoma or a non-Toyota.
