My new SR5 double cab is days away and looking to put in a remote starter. In the past, "02 exploder", I needed an additional interface to install a remote start.
I'm looking at the Viper 4706v 2-way LCD Remote Start System. Anyone know if this will require anything additional? Or should I be able to just install?

Ok, so I had a viper 5906v alarm and remote start installed. But the installers told me that viper hasn't released a firmware update for the Tacoma h-key for remote start to work. Do you think they are bull shitting me? Or does viper have their own bypass firmware for the 5906v specifically?

This is the link to the installation manual, the Tacoma is listed (done plenty already).

This is the bypass. It needs to be flashed with the right software though, so you need to get the unit flashed by someone with access to weblink or maybe you can find one online pre-flashed.

You have to purchase, but not from viper they don't have a bypass for it yet. It's through idatalink, you will have to look around online to see who will sell it. You may find it on Amazon or eBay. Just remember it has to be flashed with the Tacoma software to work.
