How long did it take for any bubbles under the film to dissipate? I might re-order.

Day or two at most. In the summer heat they should be gone quick. I have a dirt particle trapped under mine, but haven’t ever gotten around to redoing it :frusty:
You didn’t splurge for the backup film?

No, but I thought about. I wonder if it would be easier to apply with the cluster removed? :notsure:

I might try and peel it up and redo. Worst case I'll replace it.

edit: My issue was more with the included soap/water bottle. Like the soap solution didn't mix up properly and dried in pools under the film.

I tried peeling it back and reapplying with sprayway glass cleaner, but it appears the soap and or my fingerprints have fused themselves to the bottom of the film.

I *just* installed the Protech kit on my 9 month old Pro this morning...I'm pretty meticulous when I clean but the IC glass is scratched to sh!t. Should've ordered a new one prior to installing the Protech...which is quite hazy after installing but apparently clears up in a few days....we'll see. May still get a replacement IC glass and use my spare Protech film in the new one. Removing the nav/IC bezels is a MUST prior to installing the film.

I traded in my 2009 Tacoma last week and came home with a black 2023 Tacoma Sport. The radio it came with does not have the Navigation nor Car play capabilities.

While looking around tacomaworld in the few days since my purchase, I noticed many felt the need to put a screen protector on the gauge cluster as well as radio of their 3rd gens to avoid scratches, so I decided I probably should do so as well.

That all being said, I just wanted to confirm I'm measuring the screen size correctly on the stock radio so I then order the correct screen protection kit. I'm a bit confused since when I choose the 8" screen size (If I measured correctly), the description does include the Sport models, but also lists Nav as well. Since mine is without, I figured I'd be more likely to get the correct set if I posted so I could be sure I'm not somehow messing this up.

I took a pic of my radio showing where I measured to confirm I have properly measured.

    screen protector order.jpg
website showing how it lists it

I'm probably guilty of way over complicating this, but I'm pretty bad OCD at times so my apologies in advance
Thanks in advance for the help

The 23 OR ProTech kit fit my 23 OR with nav and JBL. Not sure about the measurements but here is a ref pic of the kit which did fit correctly.

I think you’ve got it right. Not sure if your radio is different than mine, size wise (I have a 2023 sport with nav and car play) so I think you’re good. I am curious how you got it for $54 and I think mine was $84 with tax/shipping.

LOL, got mine delivered 10 days ago, but between 100 degree days, and me being scared to screw it up, well, I just haven’t tried to install it yet

I’m sure my total will be higher and much closer if not ultimately higher than your order. The number showing is just the initial selection. I will also be adding a second kit considering the likelihood I will screw up on my initial attempt. Plus tax and shipping will also be added.

thanks for the responses. Makes me feel more comfortable I have selected the set I actually need to fit

Just noticed how scratched mine was when cleaning it the other day. Has anybody found a way to clean it without scratching it to shit or is replacing the plexi + a screen protector the way to go

The screen protector is the only way imo. It scratches if it gets breathed on wrong.

You might order 2 screen protectors. Try one on the scratched plexiglass to see if it minimizes the damaged look.

I just replaced my lens. Pretty easy as long as you don't drop a screw down into the dash like I did :(. Also word of caution that the white plastic clip on the harness is super brittle or at least mine was and it snapped off without much pressure. Hopefully it's not a big deal to live without. Has anyone else broken that clip? Did you replace it or leave it broken?

Why didn't Toyota just make the instrament cluster cover out of the same plastic as the head lights.
    That is the mystery.
    What???
Add like 10 or 20 bucks on the price of a new vehicle.
Probably a issue across many of their models

Or offer ones that don't scratch all up... charge a 20 30 buck replacement/ install fee at dealership as some sort of recall/ fix.

Wouldn't be a issue to me at least.
