If you have a 1st gen that you are lifting then add it, if it's a 2nd gen, then it is irrelevant and as seen earlier in this thread can be detrimental.

This is the answer I was looking for. DD will not make any improvement but a lot damage.

Does anyone know the bolt sizes? I'm taking mine off when I put my LT kit on (because why not do it while I'm under the truck). What are the OEM bolts that went in there before the drop kit went on? I didnt keep mine...

So im considering ignoring all this noise about removing DDs. :lalala:

I just put in 5100s in all 4 corners with 887xs up front and 1/4 spacers... I think i got 3+'' of lift up front now. Got the DD kit in the mail and I think im going to install it. If my off-road driving consists of gravel roads and beaches, why not install it right? Clearance is not a concern of mine.

Fair enough. Lots of ways to set up these trucks and use and abuse them.
Personally not worried about clearance so I think i'll be fine. Ill save the oem bolts in case my situation changes.

Even if I only drive on pavement, snow covered pavement, and the beach 95% of the time?
If so, why? Still haven't done it and appreciate the IMO advice.
