depends on what shop you go to, and how strict emissions are there where you live.

Most likely there is a shop in your area would do it. I've had many catalytic converters removed by a shop here in town. The thing to remember is, it is illegal, and if you if have emissions testing, don't do it.

If you do have them removed, keep the cats and sell them to a recycling yard. They are worth about 35-40 bucks a piece, or more.

you will get a CEL if you remove the front two, I.E. going with long tube headers. If you remove the two in the y-pipe you should be ok.

it'll free up some sound. and don't sell them for $60 i can't be sure how much without checking but they're worth several hundred a piece from the dealership. Find someone on here who needs them due to theft( or accidently selling them to a recycling yard lol) and help them out with a fair price, then get yourself something nice.

If you cut them with a sawsall and take a long rod and breakup the honeycomb inside you can re weld them back on and emission testing wont be a problem. I did this with my last truck, depending on the gas you run the honeycomb clogs up and blocks air flow thru the exhaust. hollowing them out will improve HP and depending on if and how clogged they are will improve you overall engine performance becouse now the air will flow unrestricted

AllFlow Non Catalytic Converter, Stainless Steel - 2"
    [EXH000328]

get one(ok actually two) of these at siliconeintakes.com go to the exhaust section

This is not a catalytic converter!

This is a special section of straight pipe with a housing that looks exactly like a catalytic converter.

Why would you ever want such a thing?
All catalytic converters, even high-flow models, introduce a significant amount of turbulence and restriction into your exhaust system. This product is called the AllFlow because you get ALL the flow, ALL the time!
Exhaust restriction robs you of horsepower, period.
Real catalytic converters often get clogged, which removes a huge amount of horsepower and is very difficult to diagnose.
There are many sanctioning bodies that want you to use a catalytic converter, including the EPA, most state governments, the federal government, many local governments, event planners, and local racetracks.
To solve this problem, many people just take a screwdriver and knock out the catalyst material in a regular catalytic converter, however this does not really work because it is very hard to get all of it removed, and even if you do, you still end up with a large open cavity in your exhaust system, which creates turbulence.
This product allows you to APPEAR to be using a performance-killing catalytic converter when you really have a perfect straight pipe exhaust.
Compete in events that require the use of a catalytic converter with a significant horsepower advantage.
Drive on racetracks that require a full exhaust system due to sound ordinances without killing your horsepower.
Pulled over by the police? One less thing to write you a ticket about. Many police forces actually do check for a catalytic converter. (Do we think this is unconstitutional? YES)
Gain 10-50 horsepower just by switching your stock catalytic converter to this amazing product.
FYI: Some cars actually have no problem passing an emissions test with no catalytic converter.

Made of polished 201 stainless steel, you won't find a nicer non-catalytic converter on the market!

The product description above is for entertainment purposes only. This product does not perform the exhaust cleansing function of a catalytic converter in any way. Use of this product on or off the road violates countless laws and may prevent your car from passing emissions. It is unlawful to install this product in any vehicle in the United States, ever. If you wish to return this product at any time in the future, a full refund will be issued. This product should only be hung on your wall to express your rebellious nature, never installed in a vehicle. This product may cause cancer.

    PRICE: $39.99

The o2 sensors are between the two cats on each side, so if the back ones are removed there would beno sensor to detect it so no codes to thro.

I wouldn't buy that. Cheap material. It will rust.

Rear cats don't have sensors after them. You must have exhaust leaks prior to your rear sensors.
