Welcome to TW! Plasti-dip is the way to go. What didn't work well with it when you used it before?

A few months after applying plastidip it looks like a kid that painted a hot wheels car then played with it in the sandbox for few years. Walking through parking lots I'll often see someone's plastidip job. Could be a decent car. But I assume they purchased it totaled at an auction and put it together following a tutorial on wikiHow.

User error probably. I had the chrome on my old grill plastidipped for years and it still looked fine. Same with the badges on my brother's truck. A bunch of light coats is the key!

I removed mine with fishing line, cleaned the residue with some turtle wax adhesive remover, painted the emblems with krylon satin black (6-8 coats), then put them back on using pre-cut templates from here: https://www.adhesivetemplates.com/find-templates. Kind of an expensive route (they used to be a bit cheaper), but I never cared for the plasti-dip route myself having gone that way on previous vehicles. Just throwing another option at you, OP. Good luck!

I ordered the black emblems off eBay, just installed them. Really good quality. The two sided tape was installed perfectly so attaching was very simple. Seller was shipshop101 if anyone is interested. Took me a while to locate the exact same font in black.
