    Update:
    Installed the mirrors to find out B737 was exactly right. Mirror shakes and is pretty shitty. Not even going to try taking the mirror apart to paint. Will be returning these and buying mirror covers for my 05-11.

    at least they are easy to change out. i got so fed up with the mirror glass bouncing over pot holes and down the highway... its frustrating cause they actually function just fine...

    dont give up!
    the guy i got the best deal from on the authentic mirrors is at DAHL toyota...
    nhilton AT dahlauto DOT com - he sold me the mirrors and the painted covers. the 2008 may be cheaper than the 2012+

    pack those suckers up good ive had fedex break not one...but two sets while mailing....

    Color matched mirror covers are only ~$50 for the pair for 05-11 so i'm not too worried about that.

    I will vouch for Dahl Toyota... I purchased my Tacoma from them. The parts guys (Nathan, Pat and I can remember the name of the third guy) are easy to deal with. Just a great dealership!

    I had chrome on my 2013 mirrors without the turn signals. I thought that they wouldn't come off either, my was just double sided tape

    my understanding is the plastic materials used as the foundation in the chrome finish is different than the plastic base that is meant to be painted or was painted.
