Are you referring to the rubber strips? Or the OEM roof rack?

Ok, that looks like an OEM roof rack. When I installed mine, I hade to remove these rubber strips that fill the channels on each side. They run the full length front to back. When you remove your rack, these channels will be exposed as well as the screw holes the rack mounts to.

If you remove the rack, you’ll have to replace those rubber channel strips. You may be able to find some on here from a member that installed a rack.

Just remove the rack, fill in the small holes the bolts were in,and buy new rubber roof mouldings and you are done/A nice clean look.

FYI to the OP, vehicles that have never had a rack installed have tape over the bolt holes.

Not sure yet. Just got the truck a few weeks ago but not 100% sold on those roof rails, just curious if its a major job to remove them. I kinda like the look without the rails unless I could find a cool, sleek rack to put on it.

Just to clarify, they're not just rails. The "rail" portions swing across to the other side providing a roof rack with two cross members.

Sell it to someone and get them to trade you their rubber roof strips. Cover the empty holes however you want. I used some 3M extreme sealing tape.

it is a tuff country uniball 4 inch lift. Basically a spacer lift with an aftermarket upper control arm. I actually just ordered toytec boss coilovers to change out the spacers. The tires are 275/70/18s.

There are no huge holes under the oem rack. They are factory bolt holes and all tacos have them. Like people said above you can replace it easily with 2 factory rubber channel strips.
