Hi guys... regarding this topic, I would like to ask how I can remove the top nut from the rear shaft. I tried to used the 8mm wrench but it was so tighten that the shaft got rolled and now I cannot loose the nut.

I would like to ask if there's another option than cutting the shaft and kill the shock.

    Thanks

might try to use a metal file and file the thread off opposite sides and then use wrench to hold in place while removing nut - and use lots of liquid wrench or PB blaster before and let it work its way through before twisting.

FOR REAR SHOCKS-Spray penetrating oil liberally, clean out recess for Allen wrench well before attempting to insert wrench. It will strip easily if not fully seated in the recess. Loosen nut normally. It should loosen. If not, cut off stud just below nut with sawzall ( fast) or hacksaw (slow) . Install new shock with anti-seize on threads. Vice grips on the shaft did not work for me, sawzall did on Bilstein 5100. The 5100's have the allen socket, Monroes have a wrench flat, I can't remember the oem Bilsteins.

Thank you. I have the OEM Bilsteins on my TRD Sport 2011. They have the flat wrench that now it is completely rolled. I will try cutting the stud just below nut. It is possible to replace the hole shaft then? (If I wanted to use them back, or sell them)

Once you cut off they are unusable, discard. I lost a 5100 shock that way.

    Same crap everyone else got
IF you can weld or have access to a welder, you can weld a small lever to the top to hold and cut it off when your done. The shock will still be good after.

Need to replace cracked bushings on front struts. Won’t the weight of the truck be sufficient/safe enough to remove the nut and replace the cracked bushing? Torque the nut to 20lb as stated in the torque spec sheet.

Ordered these replacements for 6112s (2016 Tacoma)

    Too few to list.
Unfortunately you would have to disassemble to replace all the bushings and not just the top.
