ughh. SO I have a high payment for my truck, wanted to trade for a 18 and see if they could lower my payment. Hearing now though with the toyota saftey bs on the 18s, that lifting them is going to be weird. I will wait and see what happens. All the new cameras on there will be out of wack I guess. Any thoughts?

    ^^^ True story.

Buying newer to reduce your payment makes no sense unless you're going from a loaded truck to a base model that is less expensive than what you currently owe. Why not just try to refinance what you have and stretch payments out over an additional year? All your other debt paid off? If not, hit the higher interest debt first since the rate on your truck is likely 5% or less while personal loans and credit cards are going to be between 10% and 25%. Also, we are in a rising rate environment so the interest rates on your floating rate loans will be increasing (think credit cards and other adjustable rate loans) while the rate on your truck is fixed.

You make great points. I wanted to refinance but do not know how to go about that. I have really bad credit, only got my truck because I knew a guy that could get the loan through. Afraid no place approve me for the refinance. Not sure how it works though.

You might want to check through your bank too. A lot of times, you’ll be able to negotiate a lower interest rate than you’ll get from the stealership, and I’d imagine it would be similar if you’re looking to refinance.

Plus you’ll have the added bonus of knowing exactly how much you can get financed for ahead of time if you’re buying a new/new to you vehicle.

Check out a credit union. Go ask them the questions you have, they'll help clarify some and let you know what's feasible.

PM me if you want to chat more or we could discuss at one of the Reno GTGs. Are you at a point where you can work to restore your credit? Depending on what the issues were, I've seen 100 point improvements is under a year when people actively work to improve their credit.

JMO- rear of that rack doesnt seem very well supported, it's going to place all the weight directly on the bed cap. Might cause paint chaffing or worse, but again just an observation.

I'd like to see quick disconnects and a pivot on one side so you could lift the whole rack like a door and load larger items from the sides.
